Working smoke alarms can save lives, which is why the Red Cross launched its Home Fire Campaign in 2014 to reduce home fire deaths by installing alarms in homes that lack them. “It takes all of us to make our community safer. Specifically, this DataKind project aims to identify and highlight, high-risk neighborhoods to target for in-home fire safety education and the installation of free smoke alarms by the American Red Cross and its partners. “Our hearts go out to our neighbors who are impacted by home fires,” says Michele Roth, Central and Southeastern Washington Chapter Executive Director.
